Understanding Form Input Elements
What is a "form input element"?
This is an HTML tag which looks like this: <input type="XXX" name="YYY" />
How would you use form input elements in a website?
Form input elements are a critical means by which you can gather information or queries from website visitors
What are the most common types of form input elements?
text, textarea, password, file, submit, select, checkbox, and radio
When would you use one type of form element over another?
Use "text" to gather one line of information. Use "textarea" for comments, full addresses, etc. Use "password" if you do not want the contents the users type to be visible. Use "file" for file uploads Select, checkbox and radio are described in other lessons.
