LAB Instructions: Build One to Many Model for Purchases

• Import sweetscomplete "Members" data into MongoDB

  • mongoimport -d sweetscomplete -c members --headerline --type csv
    --file /path/to/document/root/Model/sweetscomplete_members.csv

• Rewrite "Model/Members.php" to use MongoDB instead of a CSV file

  • Look for comments starting with "// ***" for clues
  • Check the Working Files folder "sweetscomplete.complete/Model/Members.php" for a solution

• Embed purchases into the "members" collection

  • Complete "Model/purchases_into_members.php"
  • Run the script to move purchase history into "members"

• Rewrite the "getHistoryById()" method

  .
  
  

  • Copy the "getHistoryById()" method from "Purchases.php" into "Members.php"
  • Rewrite using MongoDB

• Modify "View/members.php"

  .
  
  

  • Rewrite using named params instead of offset numbers
    (i.e. "user_id" instead of 0, etc.)

• Modify "View/change.php"

  .
  
  

  • Use "$member" instance instead of "$purchases" to call "getHistoryById()"

• Test and make sure the website is running

  • From your browser: http://localhost/sweetscomplete/
  • Select "Members" (top right) and verify you can scan through the list of members
  • Login as "admin@sweetscomplete.com"
  • Select "Admin" and view purchase history for a member
  • Correct any errors as needed
